So many of us are affected by cancer. Hosting your own fundraising event is a great way to show your support for personalized research, clinical trials and cancer care in our region. And we’re here to help you reach your goals. The Cancer Foundation is grateful to have such dedicated supporters who organize these events. Here are some of our past fundraising events:
Here’s how to get started:
1: Choose a fundraising idea
There are so many different ideas to choose from – anything from a hair-cutting campaign to a bake sale, golf tournament or fashion show! Take a look at our List of A – Z Fundraising Ideas for some inspiration.
2: register your event
Complete the Event Registration Form below. Upon request, we will send you our Community Event Tool-Kit which has everything you need to host your fundraising event – from how-to guides to helpful resources and templates to help you plan and execute your event. We will support and guide you every step of the way.
3: GET the word OUT
Spread the word to everyone! Phone calls to friends and family, e-mails, posters, and social media. You can find us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook (@ottawacancer). If you tag us, we will be more than happy to re-post and help promote your event!
Would you like a website? We can create one for you! Having a website will allow you to include information about your event, post pictures and videos, and accept online donations, (which will automatically generate an income tax receipt!).
4: host the event
Event day has arrived! Family and friends will be inspired and wow’d by your event and dedication to raising funds to help families living with cancer in our community. We would love to share pictures and videos of your event with the community! Please e-mail email@example.com who can share these on our website and social media.
