Thanks to the amazing participants, donors, and sponsors of last year’s Bust a Move, presented by Morguard and St Laurent, the popular retreat After the Bell is back, just ahead of International Women’s Day.

The upcoming complimentary retreat, tailored to women recovering from cancer treatment, will take place March 3rd and 4th at the Cancer Foundation’s Maplesoft Center.

It didn’t take long for this second installment to become fully booked. Many particpants had been on a waiting list following the pilot retreat last summer, and registration was opened up to any woman recovering from cancer treatment, whether for breast cancer or otherwise.

After the Bell brings women together for two days of education, fun, food, celebration and connection in a relaxing, healthy setting. It intends to fill a gap in current resources for cancer survivors by helping them make sense of the “new normal” they face after ringing the bell marking the end of their cancer treatment.

Participants will find the information, support, and practical skills to cope with the many challenges facing cancer survivors, including brain fog, decision-making, returning to work, physical wellness, body image and sexuality, trauma, fear of recurrence, and meaning-making.

It is because of you, our donors, that this edition of the retreat will be offered on a complimentary basis to the ladies in our lives who are recovering from cancer treatment. But without ongoing donor support, this will be the last After the Bell offered on a complimentary basis.

You can help us keep this program free for those who need it most by sponsoring a participant. Thank you!
