Your New Community Cancer Hub
With the Maplesoft-Jones Centre being closed since the pandemic began, we are excited to re-open to the community and introduce our new Community Cancer Hub model of support. The Ottawa Community Cancer Hub has been designed as a “one-stop” portal for cancer patients in Eastern Ontario. This model will offer a single referral point, connecting patients and their families to the many organizations offering community-based non-medical cancer support to people diagnosed with the disease.
What support is available right now?
This exciting new approach will collaborate with both clinical care providers and community-based programs to ensure more patients are better supported during their cancer journey. The goal will be to offer improved access to up-to-date information, improved access to cancer support programs, and to engage in a collaborative approach to improving the systems of support in the region.
Cancer System Navigation
If you are looking for information, resources, referrals, and a listening ear, we are here for you. Individuals who would like to speak with someone about cancer support in our community can contact our Cancer System Navigator.
Programs and Support Groups
If you are looking for in-person and virtual programs or support groups, we can assist you in finding the right programs for you. You can see what is being offered and register for in-person programs yourself through links on our calendar or by phone at 613-247-3527.
Due to limited space, we ask individuals to please commit to attending if they register. If plans change or you are experiencing any communicable symptoms, we ask that you let us know so we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist. If it makes you more comfortable, we welcome members to bring their own supplies, like a yoga mat.
Please see our COVID protocol for more information about health and safety measures (this will be updated as required).
